Whether we are seeing Cobb's memories or his dreams is difficult to say--even, literally, in the last shot Movie Accidents Happen. But she makes Mal function as an emotional magnet, and the love between the two provides an emotional constant in Cobb's world, which is otherwise ceaselessly shifting Movie Accidents Happen. Above all others is the encroaching fear of obsolescence that stalks Woody like a cancer: the dread his beloved owner Andy will one day outgrow him Movie Accidents Happen. There are moments early on in the film, where you'll be guessing: Whose dream is this? Where are we? Are they awake or asleep?
